Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

iRonShore Technologies, LLC provides iRonShore FileOps for Mac, including its PhotoOps module. FileOps helps inspect selected folders, find file information, index searchable text, and review photo descriptions. This policy covers the Mac app, not the iRonShore Technologies website or the separately installed mobile PhotoOps app.

Selected Files and Documents

FileOps accesses folders you choose. Scans use information such as filenames, paths, file sizes, dates, categories, Finder tags, and available cloud status. Exclusion settings limit subsequent scanning of selected subfolders. The scan folder is not automatically reopened after relaunch.

Optional duplicate checking reads candidate file content to calculate matching hashes. Document Search can extract document text and recognize text in supported images and PDF pages. The extracted text is saved in a local search index. It may contain sensitive information from your documents.

Folder scanning and organization previews do not move, rename, or delete original files. The current organizer’s move and Undo history are simulations, not completed filesystem changes.

PhotoOps on Mac

With Photos permission, PhotoOps can access permitted Apple Photos assets. It can also analyze supported images in a folder you choose. Classification and text recognition run locally. Saved photo information can include identifiers, filenames, paths, dates, suggestions, edited descriptions, tags, recognized text, labels, confirmed names, review status, and analysis issues.

Optional iCloud image downloads require your approval and may use bandwidth and storage. Cancellation does not necessarily remove data already downloaded by Apple Photos.

The separate Apple Photos integration requests permission to control Photos for metadata previews and explicitly confirmed title or keyword changes. A local journal records previous and proposed values for verification, reconciliation, and guarded Undo. Confirmed changes can synchronize through iCloud Photos. Image content and original Photos filenames are not changed by this workflow.

Saved Data and Sharing

Local app storage holds preferences, exclusions, rules, simulated organization history, document indexes, photo catalogs, and metadata or rename-rehearsal history. Extracted document text and photo catalog data are not separately encrypted by the app. Protect the Mac account, storage, and backups appropriately.

An exported scan report contains filenames and paths and is saved to the app’s local report storage. Photo catalog exports can include personal descriptions, recognized text, and identifiers. Copies you move or share are controlled by their destinations.

Optional catalog sync writes snapshots to a folder you select. A synchronized folder, such as iCloud Drive, can transfer reviewed or edited photo descriptions, tags, cloud identifiers, and version information between devices. Recognized text and naming settings or confirmed profiles are separate opt-in choices. Images and Photos Apply/Undo journals are not included in these sync snapshots. Sync does not automatically apply metadata to Apple Photos.

Turning an option off changes future snapshots, not copies, cloud history, or data already received by other devices. Access permissions for a chosen sync folder can be remembered by the app.

Developer Access and Other Services

The current app has no developer-operated account service, advertising, behavioral tracking, integrated analytics, or remote AI image-analysis service. We do not receive your documents, photos, indexes, or catalogs merely because you use FileOps.

Apple Photos, iCloud, and any folder or backup service you choose have their own practices. FileOps does not explicitly request cloud downloads for its folder scanner, but opening files and ordinary system synchronization can affect availability. Exporting, syncing, or sending support material can put information outside the local app.

Retention and Removal

Saved catalogs, indexes, settings, and journals remain across restarts. Removing folder or Photos access does not automatically erase saved text, metadata, or history. Deleted or excluded source documents can still have stored index text until you clear that folder’s index.

Clear Folder Index removes that folder’s searchable records without editing originals. SQLite storage and backups can retain earlier bytes; this is not a secure-erasure feature. Deleting the Mac app alone may leave its Application Support data behind.

For complete local cleanup, obtain support guidance for the correct app-storage location and first preserve any recovery records you need. Do not delete metadata journals to bypass an error. Local cleanup does not reverse confirmed Photos changes or remove exports, shared sync files, backups, or copies on other devices.

Support and Policy Updates

If you contact us, we receive the email and information you choose to send so we can address your request. Avoid sending complete indexes, catalogs, files, or journals unless necessary and specifically agreed. Redact filenames, paths, personal descriptions, and recognized text from screenshots.

We will update this policy when relevant app practices change. The effective date appears above.
